Lead Product, DTI-015

Our lead product, DTI-015, consists of the established anti-cancer compound carmustine, also known as BCNU, in an ethanol solvent vehicle. Clinical and pre-clinical studies have shown that the distribution and activity of DTI-015 are expressed rapidly and are selective to the tumor and that single injections of DTI-015 produce effects over volumes much greater than the injection volume and at centimeter distances from the injection point.

In addition to brain cancer, we are evaluating DTI-015 for the treatment of liver cancer in a single-center, physician-sponsored trial. Tumor responses, including complete responses, were recorded in more than half of the 18 liver cancer patients treated with DTI-015.

For treating brain cancer, DTI-015 is administered stereotactically, a procedure in which magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) guides the insertion of the needle into the brain, enabling delivery of the drug directly to the tumor. For treating liver cancer, DTI-015 is administered intratumorally under ultrasound or computed-tomography guidance.
